Patience is a virtue twice rewarded.

There's been private expression of the wish , on the part of two of our members herein, that the heel relief on that guitar should be incorporated into the Fender line as a welcome design change. But that would likely require a neck through construction and quite a departure from the present.

It's just a set in neck, just like some other set neck guitars from Fender, not a neck through like the Gibson Reverse Firebird.
The closest to a neck through contruction is the Merle Haggard Tele

Correct. I suppose that's what prompted the query. As an aside, I just posted this website on another thread in response to a question Stratmansteve asked about I purchase I made while on vacation.

Do you know of Gerard Marti?? He's a 'paisano' of yours living in Hawaii for many years now. See www.celebrityfineart.com

The more I see of that guitar (the one Mike likes) the more its design appeals to me. I have never seen any of those used in performance, and the first I've seen of them was in your collection.

The Haggard is a beautiful instrument in its own right.

They are great, totally underrated guitars, so a bargain , although prices are going up little by little,( they are now 25 years old) because of the scarcity.
PS I didn't know Marti, on the path of Andy W.???

Browse through his collection. Interesting stuff. His store in Wailea is quite something to see. An artist and musician in his own right, he was with EMI until he left Europe. Has quite a client list.

Mike those trems on the performer are absolutely superb they out perform floyd systems in every way. I had one i picked up along the way on a explorer i built. Super smooth and a very precise return to pitch. The roller saddles are a wonder to behold too. I'm suprised they were never fitted to more guitars. I didnt even bother with a locking nut on that guitar, it didnt need it.

POI: Katana are Japanese swords with curved blades between 70-90 cm in length.

That's the Katana
You can guess why it stayed only one year on the catalog

BTW I don't have anything which looks like that

Might have been a tad premature in its time. It's a unique look and I wonder if its time is now :?:
