Where is the serial number on a nocaster located?
Does the neck need to be removed?

if it´s a time machine nocaster, the serial number should be found on the bridge plate.

if it´s a limited edition or masterbuilt it might also be located on the neck plate or the back of the headstock.

so no need to remove the neck!!

cheers
harald

Hi Harald,

Eddie's right; no serial number appears on the outside of the guitar; be it on the back of the headstock, on the bridge plate or on the neckplate.
I'll check inside next time I change the strings.
Cheers

Thanks guys
I saw the serial number on the bridge plate but it doesn't match the usual format so I was confused.

Remember photos of those guys from Fender standing on top of a neck between two chairs, without any bend on it in the '50s?

Right, Alain! This will help to sleep better tonight...

Ouch - I feel guilty!!!! :-) But I knew my babies would find a really good home in France. By the way, seems I´m getting reasonable: finally reduced from 110 to only 60 guitars. Am I cured?

Not sure: you are healing , yes indeed; but should a bunch of Sunburst guitars masterbuilt by John English surface and then... you have a relapse
