If you had one question to ask a Fender Masterbuilder what would it be.

I see,
" How much do they personnally intervene in a Masterbuilt, in comparison with a Teambuilt ?"
What is their actual input in fact ?
Access to the very best woods ?

Same question as Alain, probably...

I notice my guitar has "relic" stamped just near the tremolo claw inside the cavity, so I'm guessing that at some point bodies are sorted according to whether or not any minor cosmetic flaws are going to show up in the final guitar. I say "minor" because I can't imagine they'd have any duds they need to shift at the custom shop!

Does the master builder personally select components from this stock (as opposed to telling someone to just grab him something from the relic room), or do they keep a private stock of particularly choice parts?

...and... was there ever an answer to the question about aging woods? I mean, is the relic treatment purely cosmetic, or do they try to accelerate the process of the woods drying out somehow? I doubt they do, but it would be interesting to know if there are any steps in the relic-ing process before the finish goes on and then...erm...comes off again...heh.

* sorry about asking two questions

no problem both questions are good, i know they have thier own select stock and all wood is machined in the CS .what i need to ask is where the masterbuilders are in the entire process of each guitar .im going to try and track down my Haggard sig see where it is after 8 months and whos worked on it
