I went and tried the instrument today and was very impressed. The quality of the instrument was as apparent on handling as my previous custom shop experiences. In Fact the idea of checking the COA at that point became moot. I did check it anyway and it all matched. It is as i first speculated SCN's on a S1 switch but quite unlike a deluxe's S1 system with the pickups operating what sounds like a shared coil for all pickups whilst still retaining their individual positions on the 5 way switch. In other words the 5 way works the same way whether the S1 is up or down. When the s1 is down all positions have a humbuckered flavour.

A deal was reached i shall be picking the guitar up tomorrow.

The other thing i missed when typing my findings of the guitar is that it feels like a guitar i wouldnt worry about much. Not that its worthless i hasten to add, it just seems like its a by your side guitar rather than a keep it locked away safely guitar.

Fhop, you may not see much of me around here soon mate. I forsee a future wrapped around a custom classic for myself.

Congratulations, niki. I hope it is all you hope that it is and that you enjoy the daylights out of it, my friend.

I still can't get an email through to you...Why don't you try shooting one to me...

Great looking guitar nikininja; congratulations!

Now that you’re a Custom Shop Man, please don’t forget us little people banging away on barnwood bodies with wing nut tuning machines and recycled piano wire strings…wait a minute, I think I just co-designed the YeeHaw® Artist Series! :D

Yeehaw, put me down for 3 of your artist series please. I'm a lifelong fan of old nailed together guitars. Everything has its use and its place, i'll never be a eliteist. If you saw some of the wreck's i've owned and gigged with you'd fully believe me.

You might want to remind the seller to take down his auction on e-bay Nik, it's running until the 29th Jan. I was tempted to put a bid in :P Jk mate. Let us know what's happening, it looks a really sweet guitar. Good luck

I'm leaving my house to get it in 1 hour. Please guys dont bid. I told the seller to leave the auction active until i walk out of the door with the guitar. That way if someone buys the guitar for a higher price than i'm prepared to pay he's on a winner. Yknow i demand a lot from people at times espesialy when it means i've got to part with money. But i do try to treat people fairly and allow them to keep their options open. After all its no more than i'd expect.

Will be posting picks sometime within the next 5 hours.

Got it. body, neck and hangtag codes all match, as does the COA match the neckplate. Very smooth player.
Got it back and set about re-stringing it and treating the board. Stripped it checked the codes. Polished the body, put it back together and set it up.

Kinda busy now, disturbing the neighbours. Pic's will follow tommorow.
