Hello,

got me one of these great LE '67 Closet Classic Teles, my question is about how far the CC treatment goes in terms of signs of use, age etc.

Got the Tele from my local dealer who had it on display for about two years (at least that's what he told me...).

Checked finish, aged hardware and plastic parts...that's all fine with me. The only thing that bothers me is a little "dent" in the backside of the neck around the second fret and some minor belt buckle wear. Could anyone help me on how far such signs of use (especially those on the neck) are part of the CC treatment as well ? Otherwise, I'd say it must be some "additional" aging (i.e. shopwear).

So, all you Custom Shop afficionados, please share your knowledge and experience with a CS novice.

Best regards,
C.

Well,

Welcome to the Forum,

To each CS Teambuilder his own opinion of a CC treatment but within a global statement:

"Built as if Bought New in its Respective Year and Played a Few Times a Year and then Put Carefully Away. Has a Few Small Dings, Checked Finish and Oxidized Hardware."
So it's difficult to separate any "additional" wear from the "original" one
But what's the difference ?
If it was like that when you bought it, nothing was hidden from your view.

First of all, thanks for the response.

I guess you're absolutely right! It doesn't make a difference, I was just being curious if any of you guys can shed some light on what's to be expected in terms of CC aging.

It's really a beautiful instrument, one of the finest Teles I had the honour to hold in my hands and with only 200 being made probably a somewhat good investment...

So I understand you are quite happy with her
So that's the main point.
