hi this is my first topic  horror so ill try and explain myself the best I can ok  . As a lot of people Im a Pink Floyd fan more so a David Gilmour fan and I know Im not the only one so Im not going to be cocky about that. But like many others I started making a dg strat from my fender standard strat before the model came out but when I saw the final product after all those prototypes well I seriously think nobody can do better so well done to them (clap). And like alot of people I am going to go for nobodys going to covince me otherwise but when I saw both models I was :? this is not in the book thats the black strat book bye the way they are both amazing I was imidatly drawn to the relic but now Im divided for different reasons can you help me decide. by the way I mannaged to play both but Im still divided help me someone :(

First. Welcome to the forum. There are several of us here that purchased the Gilmour and we were faced with the same problem. If I remember right it was about half of us bought one or the other. I opted for the NOS myself.I am really happy with it and the fact that it was a little cheaper convinced my wife which one I was allowed to buy! You can't go wrong with either! As has been said here "it's a players guitar!" Good luck deciding and enjoy!

Have you seen the article on the guitar in Jan. 09 issue of Guitar Player? It was just delivered to me a few minutes ago. Very interesting! Also in the mag. is a pic. of Fender University and one of the Gilmour owners on the forum. Gratz , you're looking good in that jam session man! 8)

The music shop on page 73 is the store I bought my DG from. Good people!! and local! 8)

Just a question of taste and cost; there is no reason they should sound differently.
Your choice...
But whatever it is you'll get a great guitar

I also went with the NOS, it's a fabulous guitar. I've never really understood the whole relic thing, whatever floats yer boat as they say. Either way, you are going to be very pleased with this particular guitar. It really is special, good luck with your decision.

I went for NOS, correct me if I'm wrong but the only difference with the relic is the look. Paying £600 extra for scratches and marks didnt appeal to me.

Very happy with my NOS

I would have to agree with you on that level they never really appealed to me on my first impression I think I goin to go with NOS because it seems a bit more sence than the relic ta for that
