Hi, I posted this in the wrong place. Now I get how it works :o

This seems like a good price but I know very little of Masterbuilt. I dont love relic but I like the color and I would like a 50's maple neck to go with my supremely excellent 1965 CS Reissue Strat.

would appreciate thoughts so I can become more edumacated going forward.
danke
Andy

The guitar, from the photoslooks genuine; so at that price it might be an opportunity.
Some people are now looking for cash ...

Alain, thank you very much for your opinion. I was hoping you would reply as I was told to specifically seek you out. Do you value one masterbuilder less or more than another. is the fact that Mr. Esparza no longer works for Fender a good or a bad thing- value wise.

cheers
Andre

This one seems like a steal. Although it is interesting that the seller gives no "born on date". Seems like a Yuri Masterbuilt, albeit older, for less than $2600 (2300?) is somewhat of a nice buy?

All are great Builders, Art is one among them, several who left Fender are still in great opinion: Black, Hamel, Suhr, Esparza, etc...

The back of the headstock is signed by Yuryi so just make sure the COA is matching...

Noted that you recognized the builders on the COA and the neck differ.
Do MB guitars general lack a # on the neck plate. :?:

Alain, do you think the build quality would be significantly different between a one-off, special order CS piece vs a Masterbuilt limited run offering.

if you were counseling someone who had $3500 to spend - is it a smarter move to buy a used masterbuilt or a special CS- price being equal. And say the buyer wants to retain as much value on resale should that person tire of the piece.

thanks again. i apologize if these points have been hit in other threads. I looked and couldnt find it.

Build quality should be the same in all cases. Anything out of the routine will be charged on top.
I don't know what you want or prefer so it's difficult to counsel; I'm not sure you'll get a lot of what youu expect from the CS with that budget.
The one for sale is within the range of what you can find on gbase.
And no waiting...
