[quote="fhopkins"][quote="caleb"] This is the trem arm placement in the guitar we all purchased (Relic/NOS)..all Fender...and please look in your books for reference.

I'm familiar w/Callaham's products, but someone fill me in on the rest w/respect to this bridge/block/arm thread.

It's possible that our friend may have walked away from a properly setup guitar. I can't imagine a reputable dealer not sending something of that ilk which might be questionable back to the Custom Shop ...but...you never know. :?

Doc, I'm confused, did BJW buy the guitar and take it back or did he not like what he saw when he went to pick it up? I'm keeping my foot out of my mouth until I hear or see something from BJW! :?
And like alain asked, I would like to know about Calebs Case. :?:

The guitar was refused. The deposit returned. He was thinking about coming into Manhattan to shop and negotiate a purchase price. (Can't be done...it's prix fix!).

Caleb, if I am right, was simply submitting photos to clarify the position of the trem handle. From all those submitted, they are the same....of course!!

My question was related to how and why Callaham products got into the mix

Doc.

I got mine for the Fender price but got the taxes waived. I guess they came out of the dealers profit! 8)

Same here Doc, no discounts on offer at all. In saying that, I still reckon we got a helluva deal on this guitar.

Well I did wind up buying the 57 Twin amp at the same time so I probably paid for it then! but then again I did not pay close to the MSRP for the amp either. Good dealer. 8)

I think there was a hint on how much I paid earlier so refer to it and you'll see there was a margin for negotiation as always.
But even at the MSLP it's a good deal.
Keep in mind I pay shipping overseas, plus VAT & Custom Excise for Europe ie about 30% more... and the US$ is now high against €.
Lucky you all in

Alain
