The guy was a d-ck to me when I asked for my deposit back. He was like "I could have sold this guitar three times" I called him on the trem, and he was like, well, "thats what was in the box" I didn't ask to see the contents of the box, but it was shady none the less, which -isses me off. The angle was way off, and not very comfortable, and sat way too high. It was hookey. Based on the pics from Alain and all that I have seen thus far. I still would like to see one pic body down, level to the floor so to speak. I am not kidding you when I screwed it in is was at least an inch and a half from bridge to bend, and that was screwing it in all of the way, which I NEVER do. I am going to report it to Fender. I have done so much research on this guitar, more than any car I ever bought believe it or not  and it will be my first CS and I want to be 100%. I am not going to name, names but it is a shop in CT.

I think I am just going to get one in NY maybe even see if I could do some haggling and at least get one that everybody and their brother has not touched or picked over for that matter.

I wish I got the serial number off of the back. Let me work on that

That's a raw deal BJW, if they're at it you should go ahead and report them. It all sounds a bit iffy to me, which really is a pity. It's a fabulous guitar, I hope you find one in NY dude.

[quote="Blue Jay Way"] This guitar should be delivered out of an unopened box if you do this deal correctly from a responsible Custom Shop Dealer. To the best of our knowledge he price is fixed as quoted by the Custom Shop.

I know nothing of US consumer rights. British consumer rights state 'you can return a purchase within 3 months of purchase date for any reasonable reason.' Surely a nation as based on consumerism as the USA will have better more defined laws to protect the consumer. In britan 'sold as seen' is a urban myth too and holds no legal standing. So dont let em come that one either.

Sorry to hear about your troubles man! Mine came in an unopened Fender box and I opened it in the store with the salesman. Something is definitely wrong if your box was already opened. I posted a few pictures in the Custom Shop forum to Ceri with pics of guitar and amp, maybe they can help you . If not I can take some more for your comparison! Good Luck!

Here is one

Hop..where do I access those pics??

On the question of the case...there's a guitar in a display case at Umanov's in Greenwich Village. I assume someone will buy it. However, I agree....that with these high enders....unopened is the way to go. My dealer had my permission to open the carton when we were accessing the COA #'s but, beyond that, nothing else was touched until I removed the guitar.

Doc.

[quote="fhopkins"]: So far, yours, alain's and mine look exactly alike.
Would have been interesting to have seen a pic of the questionable trem. :?

P.S. Even the pickup heights are the same :!:
