I am 14 years old, and when IO heard of t his gu8itarist I first thought it was a Swedish disease!

I dont hink he is wellenough known to warrant a signature model.

BTW Alaine - I hope your wife enjoyed her time in Cape Town.

caleb wrote "he is not well enough known to have a sig mod".i agree with that statement but the guitar is singularly unique and took a great deal of talent to reproduce ,with that in mind it is worth consideration.just my HO.

All the story about Yngwie's guitar it's not only a new expensive instrument with a signature.
Even if you like Yngwie or not, he is one of the guitar players that change the way that guitar is played, together with Ritchie Blackmore and Uli Jon Roth this Neoclassical guitar school start back in early 70's when melodies from classical artists such as J.S Bach, T. Albinioni, L.V Beethoven, N. Paganini, Chopin and more came back to life through Rock and Hard Rock music. The melodic ideas wasn't something "musicaly" new, but the way they put it into Rock & Hard Rock was Totaly NEW! Audience accepted these "new" melodies and gave their respect to these artists by buying albums and watching concerts.
All of'em (artists) had their own personal instrument since they start their career and these instrument through the years became one with each one of them. People start to connect'em with their instruments, like Ritchie's or Yngwie's Stratocaster, Uli's 70's Strats and the amazing Sky Guitar.
Now it's companies' duty to show their respect to these artists who support'em by playing with their instruments. Also a small part of the audience is what we call "Big Fans" and less are the "Maniacs" or "Collectors".
For all these people this is a way to say "Thank You" for what you gave us with your music.
Please be gentle with the companies that support artists, old or new, doesn't matter.
So for them and for us is just another way to "Thanks For What You're Giving Us By Playing Your Music"

Trully Yours,

William Sats

I take nothing away from any of the guitar heros collective greatness. I've lived long enough and played long enough to understand, that for myself, playing another guy's model, having it beat up to the degree that he played it to, and revelling in it's glory does not bring me any special magic. Custom Shop is there for me too, and my Masterbuilt Strat is a nicer instrument to play than most "Tribute guitars" I've tried.

We're caught up in this marketing vortex that say's " Gosh, if so and so played one just like this...and this is how he made it look...wow, how cool of a guitar must that be!" I own a 1958 Stratocaster, a 1962 Strat, and a new Masterbuilt '56. I don't want Jeff Beck's guitars. Nor Stevie Ray's, nor his brother Jimmy's or anyone elses. I'm happy with NOT having someone elses name on a guitar :)

For me Yngwie Malmsteem is a virtuoso among others.

After two minutes of listening, I give up. Maybe I'm too old to appreciate.
On the other hand, as I mentioned hereabove ,hats off to the work of John Cruz for the relicing he has done on this Tribute Strat, thus the price.
This is worth consideration on its own should one like YM performance or not.

Having just acquired this guitar a little over a week ago, I must say it is an incredible masterpiece of a guitar. I was at the Custom Shop a few weeks back talking to John Cruz about it. I even got play the prototype he built. It was amazing. Mine is a Jason Smith built one. I was there talking to John about a strat that i'm having him build for me. So if you can swing it, pick up the Yngwie strat. Mine is going on the wall in a glass case next to my signed Yngwie strat and my signed John 5 Tele.
Hey Gratz it's Mike S. from Fender U.

"Mine is going on the wall in a glass case "
What a pity, just like butterflies !!!

I use to collect guitars
http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/alb ... 4473CuoGgL

but NONE of them is in a glass case.
The good side of these guitars is that you can enjoy them, play them, hold them , breathe them, feel them, without harming their value.

To have them in a glass case is just like having shares in a portfolio :(
I'm not sure other people at Fender share your point of view
