Is there something unique about Hendrix's guitars other than the fact that he flipped them? I was always under the impression that he played stock Strats out of the box, so to speak? :?

Their colors and model.

I personally never saw a maple cap olympic white strat. Or a Black Polyester finish strat with a maple cap neck.

The fact that the staggered poles are reversed, which string the string tree touches, and the stretching of the lower E, make the guitar sound differently.

I dont know, probably nothing very special. But to me they are.
