They were selling the pick that came with the 5 disc version of Gdansk for $100.

I almost put mine out there to put the funds I am raising for my NOS

It's been a busy weekend, finding me all over the map, so to speak, and I'm not quite finished yet. Have to run out again directly, but I appreciate the fact that you have been looking for me.

#42951 NOS is neatly ensconced in my study. It's a great guitar, well made and I find the neck just a tad shallower that my '89 Clapton which makes it quite playable.

As a matter of interest, the COA is dated 10/2/08 and the book was NOT signed. Another point of interest is that apparently this book is the first edition because the books I purchased from Amazon are hard cover and end with the final production versions of the guitar. Is there anyone in the group with an NOS and a signed book?

In all, I agree with alain that this is an excellent player's guitar, Great flexibility in tonal colorations and the SSL-5 is a stormer. I like the feel of it very much, a very low, fast action, as well as the string gauges such that I may have a set installed on my Clapton. Running this through the Gilmour settings in my Line 6 AX2 is a trip.

I haven't have time to play with this mini-toggle and get the hang of it. Does it cut out the five-way completely and kick in all three pickups with the five way in any position? One of you can save me some time on this.

Well, I gotta run. It's nearly 10 pm on the east side of the big pond and with EST gone from here, dust is approaching.

Thanks for your interests in my good and welfare. I will look in later when many of you will be sawing wood, and we will carry on this madness in future.

Enjoy your guitars.

Now we sit with the Malmsteen contingent and await the next debut.

Congrats Doc..

I was sure you'd like it .It's an easy player..

So to save time miniswitch up:

-Position 1: bridge pup
-Position 2: bridge + middle pups
-Position 3: middle pup
-Position 4: middle + neck pups
-Position 5: neck pup

Miniswitch down:

-Position 1: bridge + neck pups
-Position 2: bridge + middle + neck pups
-Position 3: bridge + middle + neck pups
-position 4: middle + neck pups
-position 5: neck pup

Hope that helps

[quote="alainlafrance"]Congrats Doc..

Thanks alain. I'm curious about your notations on 5-way switch positions. Do players on the continent refer to the 5-way in the extreme down position as position 1 :?: :?

........"51" The email is away. Everything in the case was sealed. It never occurred to me to check the COA against the guitar. I opened that at home. It means there's likely another 'switchie' out there.

I'm going over to the Gilmour threads to post this question.

Doc

I went back to the CS specs on that guitar last night after the Forums closed. I flipped :!: 58 years they're selling these guitars!!! The guitar IS wired according to tradition. The bridge pickup is position #5.

I don't follow you; here are the specs of the DG Strat from Fender website:

5-Position Blade:
Position 1. Bridge Pickup
Position 2. Bridge and Middle Pickup
Position 3. Middle Pickup
Position 4. Middle and Neck Pickup
Position 5. Neck Pickup

1 Mini-Toggle (Adds Neck Pickup in Positions 1, 2 and 3.)

:?:
