I have a Fender Custom Shop set neck Stratocaster Honduras mahogany body with a AAA quilted maple top. The neck is maple and the fingerboard is ebony. The route under the pickguard is a rectangle. I put on a new pearloid pickquard with two full size humbuckers and a single coil size humbucker in the middle. I put on three dpdt 3-way switches so each pick up can be humbucker/single coil/parallel. then I added a fourth switch to be able to turn on the neck pick up a second way to have the neck and bridge pick up on at the same time as well as all three pick ups on.
It is a great guitar.

It was a 1994 Custom Shop production model not a custom order and the reason the head stock was dark brown was to to match the neck and body since it was a set neck with the neck glued into the body. So that was decided by Fender. The switches were added like a Strat that Randy Bachman of The Guess Who and BTO had added to a Strat like his in the 1960's was before Tom Anderson guitars were existence but yes both those things make the guitar look like a Tom Anderson which happens to be a coincidence not a conscience decision. the quilted maple top is outstanding and I had to wait till Feb 1995 to get the guitar because Phil the salesman told me that the guitar was on display at The Jan 1995 NAMM Show if I remember correctly. Yes it has the good old swimming pool rout I didn't think everyone would know what I meant buy that.
