It's a Relic
The serial number is R43101 and the COA is dated 09/23/08
And the book is signed.
So no valid theory up to now.
Alain

Bonsoir Alain,

Your date is same as mine, and your serial number is also not far off (43101 compared to 43056).

I wonder if Doc is not too far off when he mentions that the first two numbers may refer to the luthier and the last three refers to the number of the guitar made??

That would m ake mine number 65, and yours number 101.

By the way I have alwasy wanted to congratulate you on your magnificent collection.

Thanks Caleb

I don't think there is any reference to any Masterbuilder as they are Teambuilt.
I think they numbered them one batch at a time, not one by one; yes ours are very close.

Btw Caleb, my wife just went for a 2 weeks vacation around Capetown
Beware if you see 100 Swedish ladies

Hello Fhopkins & Doc

Thanks .
I had no chance to try it toady, just quickly open the case as there was a warning from UPS that since the packing stayed in a cold storage I should wait 24h before opening the case.
I'll come back on that tomorrow after testing

Alain

Formidable!! :P 8) For the hell of it....tell me how that neck compares to your 'As Built For'!!
Doc
Doc, would you share your evaluation of the guitar and it's specific characteristic's with us? i.e. are you glad you got it or not?

I will take delivery Saturday, a week after the order was placed. Due to the spontaneity of my decision, and quickness of the delivery (it's been in the store since Tuesday morning), I don't have the free time Saturday to enjoy it due to prior commitments. Just enough time to sign and run back to the house with it. Hopefully I will be able to post my impressions Sunday afternoon.

Wouldn't mind hearing from alain on that score. He's no doubt had it in his hands for a couple of hours now, and has a 'few others' lying around for comparison. :P

Do hope he is as pleased as the rest appear to be.

Doc

That's a good idea Alain! I just received a phone call from my Dealer (The Perfect Guitar in Baton Rouge La. USA) To check and see if I was satisfied with everything! 8) They are a authorized Fender dealer. I did not want anyone to think I was pushing a Dealer. (but they are a great online resource)
I can't wait to get your opinion on the guitar Alain! 8) I'm glad you have one because I know that you know what you speak of!! :!: 8)

So it's the waiting game then. It will come faster from France by six hours.

I am sure that, within the next decade, the vintage historians will have catalogued it all and there will be those of us who will be able to say we were among the first. No doubt alain will have a take on this.

From reading the threads it strange that a lot of the COA's are dated around the same date, but all seem to have been delivered at different times, my COA also dated 23rd sept but I got mine 2 weeks back now.

My fingers hurt from playing so much!!

And I just got my forum T shirt.

happy days

For those of you who have already received the Black Strat with Phil's signature in the book, could you tell me where he signed the book? Was it the inside cover? Also, were the Gdansk CDs/DVD underneath the book in the sealed foam container?
