From Phil Taylor's book, David got the first two CS guitars.

I can post a pic if you like.

Unless these predate the start of production after final approval of the prototype, they incorporated into the contact agreement that David would have the rights to the first two off the line because I would expect that the #1 and #2 would have some collector value beyond what Alain feels the guitar holds being of unlimited quantity.

From Taylor's book: There are two final prototype NOS's and two final relics'. Fender keeps one of each as reference guitars for production; David gets the others.

That's a real bummer Jaiyenyen, look on the bright side... You have something to look forward to, when you get home. All this activity on the movement of the strats, is telling me I might get a call before Friday.

FOR CALEB, quick question, did your RELIC came with the signed book? My Relic has the exact date in the COA as yours 9/23/08, please confirm, maybe we can try and sort this serial number business out. I kind of agree with hopkins that the first number does not matter and I think that R stands for RELIC.
Please confirm and congrats on your new baby, did you give it a name yet, mine's called Darth because it looks so badass all scraped and beaten up. They really did an amazing job on it, I can understand now why it took so long to get it. I was watching the Live 8 performance of Pink Floyd for 2005 and David used his strat, man!!!! they really nailed it down to a T.
All the best,
M.
