Okay, i know that it is possible to get the custom shop to make a guitar that is 'yours.' I would want to know out of curiousity what exactly it would cost if i asked for this (be as close as possible):

Arctic white stratocaster (reliced):

-alder body(nitro finish, very thin)
-soft v shape neck, large headstock, no skunk stripe
-maple fingerboard, 7.5 inch radius
-3 alnico III pickups(reverse bridge)
-10 gauge d'addarios
-6 point tremolo bridge, floating (not flush with the body)
-Grover tuners
-standard nut
-white-black-white pickguard
-chrome hardware
-medium-jumbo frets
-bullet truss rod
-standard pots/tone circuit
-3-way switching
-21 frets w/ black dot inlays
-my signature on the headstock!! (LOL if it's possible)

So that's actually my dream strat. If there's anything that would make it cheaper tell me if you wish, and tell me if there is already a model like this out there!!

You don't have to be specific; i see no one can answer this. Maybe just an estimate since it is so hard :)

You might can do a search on custom shop prices as I seem to remember someone posting custom shop prices on each choice, ie, necks, pups, body etc. Good luck and sounds like a great guitar!! :) 8)

If you want an exact price you need to submit the specs for a quote to a Fender Custom Shop Master Dealer in your area. It doesn't cost anything to get a quote. Looking at the specs it will definitely be a Master Built piece which will probably be $4K or more.

And yes, it is possible to get your signature on the headstock, I did that with my Master Built Telecaster. They take your signature and convert it to a dry transfer decal which is applied and then finished which makes it permanent. It can only go on the back of the headstock though. Here's pic of mine...

Good luck, I hope you are able to get it done it will be worth every penny!

Oh i am FAR from getting it done. I would be lucky to get my hands on an MIM!!! It's just out of curiousity because even though im a fan of factory run guitars, it's just cool to know that you can have a guitar that's built by a team that is very experienced, and all of these guitars are top of the line. The Custom SHop truly shows what fender is about. Well, actually, it shows how dedicated the fender workers are to their instruments. The actual symbol of fender is the guitar that is made in the factory. Mass produced, cheaper than some others, and innovative.

ALso, wouldn't it be cool to have the guitar designed in custom shop, some parts built there, but sent to mexico for assembly? That would certainly make it a bit cheaper!
