Hi, all.

I just purchased a 2017 model Custom Shop 1961 Stratocaster Relic, and in the neck pocket, there is an ink stamp with the letters JS.

Can anyone tell me what that means? Is it a mark from a Masterbuilder - or something else entirely? Jason Smith is the only JS I can think of, but I know he usually signs his instruments.

Here's a link to a photo:

The guitar has a COA dated 8/25/17 and signed by Tom Montgomery.

The headstock is just a regular Custom Shop V logo - with no indication it was masterbuilt. On the Shop Floor Traveler, in the body section under SORT, there's the notation YES SORT and Y. What does that mean?

Thanks!

"JS" might also be John Suhr who is no longer associated with FMIC.

John Suhr left Fender in 1997. This guitar is 2017.

Sort means sort the wood for either weight or grain.
JS possibly as you suggest but could be another js in the custom shop.
Team built have the std logo masterbuilt has the builders signature either on the headstock or neckplate.
Hope that helps a little. :D
