I really want to buy a fender strat. I found a fender strat custom shop MIM on the internet with the serial number "MXll150783" (I am not sure if it is the correct serial number or if it is MX11150783). Is this a custom strat or is it one from the classic player series? What exactly is it?
Thanks a lot!

Not custom shop. Serial finder says classic player 50s but without pics it could be anything. :D

Ditto.
We'd need pics to have any idea of what it is, but what it is NOT is a custom shop.
All Custom Shop Fender products are made in Corona, California.
You might have something that has been "customized", and if done by a skilled luthier, it might be a very nice guitar, but it's not a Fender Custom Shop product.

First post mentions the possibility it's a MIM Classic Player series.

The neck plates on those are engraved "Custom Shop Designed".

So I wouldn't assume it's a "fraud" or partsocaster -- it's probably just a regular Classic Player.

You could argue that Fender exaggerated the Custom Shop's contribution. (Stamped saddles on a 2-point bridge -- originally exclusive to CS models, and the Classic Players were the first regular production guitars to get that combination.)

The serial number, MX11150783, does match a CP 50's with 2-tone burst.

The original Classic Player Strats were completely different animals: Vintage Noiseless pickups, 22 medium-jumbo frets, abalone dots, Sperzel locking tuners, a variety of pickguards and the choice of C or V-shaped necks with rosewood or maple fingerboard.

These guitars were crafted at the CS.
