I had a Pensa Suhr fitted with active EMG pick ups.The only positive point about them is that they can send the signal through piles of footswitches, processors, reverbs etc, etc and tenths of meters of cables and at the end still delivering a decent clear sound if needed.
Otherwise...

Might that have been the MK1?? We go way back here in Manhattan with John and Rudy. Of course they have since parted ways. Have you ever been to the 48th St. shop with the generic Fender headstock as a front door handle?

The observations you made about the EMG's as good 'drivers' is the reason why DG used them. Having resumed use of the Black Strat I would expect that they found another way to either shield the present SC's in that guitar, or otherwise noise cancel his signal chain.

Still waiting to learn more about that GC 'one off wonder'. Hopefully we have saved someone some hard earned coin.

Happy New Year. Did they light up the old tower again for New Year's Eve?[/quote]

Happy New Year to you too.
Yes the Eiffel Tower was at her best now lightened with low consumtion Leds.
Regarding the Pensa Suhr it was a Mk I but not strickly similar to the Mark Knopfler's own only 5 of which having been made (the ones with the body and neck binding)

In this case, yours was the better choice. It reflects your customary eclectic tastes. It's very clean and simple, but elegant. Where did it go?

Personally, I eschew the Floyd Rose, and would rather a fixed bridge with through-body stringing like a Tele, plus a Clapton neck profile. Rudy once told me he'd build it however I preferred it, but could not call it an MK.

Warmoth used to offer that headstock design for replacement necks but I don't see it anymore. I've always suspected that Warmoth either sells Rudy his guitar parts and that they or someone else actually builds the guitars for him on order. The fact that the catalog no longer shows that headstock makes me suspect that Rudy had them take that headstock out of their catalog.

This may be the direct Ceri is taking his project.

I sold it "stupidely" under the market price but having paid it for almost nothing.
I did not play it because of a very flat neck and those EMG pick ups.
The man to whom I sold it gave me back a lot of substantial help for finalizing several major deals since,so it's OK.

I know that Tom Anderson was the man behind.

Ah!....so you had issues with that neck as well. Not surprised. I also thought that the DG-20 did not have much 'wack' as I described it. But Gilmour would only need them to drive signal, not for gain.

So you say that Anderson's Guitar Works built the P/S guitars. Now I see the similarities in head stock design, but I prefer the larger size on the P/S and as Anderson does a 50's V-neck in two sizes, if I were going in that direction I'd do it through Rudy. He gets about $5K street for those babies these days and maybe more. I'm thinking that perhaps, instead of mucking arouind with my PRS's I should have had a Pensa built.

For Tom I was thinking about the neck
New Pensa are like those boutique guitars : easy to buy, hard to sell at a profit (same for PRS alas although the very early ones are being sought after now)...whatever the sublime quality of the finish on some.
I know
