It's worth a visit PF, remember and checkout downstairs. The last time I was there, they had a 62 Strat on display. That in itself was worth the visit for me, they are a friendly buch there too. They also had a Fender Jaguar on display, it was stunning too. Enjoy yourself dude 8)

I got my last three electrics from this place Hop, I got my latest beauty from the local place here in town. It's what you would describe a "mom and pop" store, they don't stock nearly as much as guitarguitar does. I just happened to be passing the store, when I disovered the Martin delivery had just arrived. They had half a dozen or so in the store, I was drawn to two of them. I played em both for a while, came home and slept on it. The rest as you know, is history

I took the DG Strat in for the guys to check out, they all loved her to bits. Nice place, nice people. Just not enough guitars

I bought my DG from The Perfect Guitar, they have a small store but have a large internet footprint! I am planning a visit in the next day or two. I can never leave without something!

It's hard to believe, it's been a year since the release of this guitar. How does everyone feel about it now? Personally, I'm still lovin it, and actually using the trem now  I didn't use it for months, slowly but surely I'm getting to grips with it. She's out of her case now, and I'm going to play her (well... try) and give her a nice polish afterwards (for the evening session later). It would be cool to hear from the rest of you DG owners 8)

Ditto. :!: I'll reiterate what I said before. It's got everything about a classic Strat that we've known and loved.

I have such empathy for the group waiting on this new JM. That project is carrying far much more anxiety among potential buyers that the Gilmour. What is it with him and the company. :?

I'm still a tad p'ode that my guitar didn't come with a signed book, whilst Wildwood istill holds a clutch of them in inventory, yet unsold. What takes the edge off that is that fact that I had already acquired the second edition which is a bit more detailed, larger, and hardcovered.

So this says something about the distribution of the Gilmour. Maybe they've product still sitting on the shelf in California, never to be sold.

It speaks to the wisdom of 'on demand' production for a limited run period, as with the 50th Anniversay '54, and building the guitar to order. That's what they should do with this new Mayer. I will give anyone who wants one, the opportunity.

Any thoughts, Alain?

The wait time on build to order guitars would allienate half the buyers. Remember how all you guys got about the gilmour. It was 'The Birds' all over again, the tension was unbearable. Even for me, who has no hopes of ever owning one. Lump another 12 months on top of that and you need a very special kind of buyer.

Though your observation is likely valid, they are about to do just that not-withstanding. They need a better mousetrap for this one.

I cannot beleive it's a year since the issue of the DG.

I am extremely lucky to h ave many guitars, but I keep comi ng back to this one.

I can't exactly tell you why - but there is something about it that makes playing it a pleasure.

Probably the old adage - the whole is beter than the sum of it's parts??
