You're certainly not getting the cold shoulder from me Hop, and not just because we both share the same interest in the DG Strat. Like I said earlier, I'm tired of all this book business. As I'm sure you are too, people need to walk in our shoes for a while to realise the situation. That said, I will still post here with the final outcome. Close the book on it so to speak, see Doc I'm picking up on puns now

I know that Snowy and I really appreciate your replies to my postings and all of your postings in general my friend. My book is supposed to be here by the end of next week!! :) 8)

OK girls....no fights! As a matter of interest we should just inquire of the last digit on the NOS vs Relic guitar #'s and see if there is any obvious system.

We got serial number R43056.

Does this mean we have the relic # 56??

Does anyone know what the serial numbers on Fender guoitars really mean??

my theory is that you have relic number 305

but like Doc says it's all hysteria!------- with all due respect Doc!

Thanks for your thoughts Mr Hopkins.

I would however really like to know ow the Fender serial numbering system works.

For example if I do indeed have number 305, then what does the number 4 at the beginning and the number 6 at the end mean??

I don't know as my last number is a 8 on a NOS model and they all seem to start with R4 and the last number( 8 )on mine is in a different text from the rest of the numbers!? :? Is your last number of 6 in a different text? Do you have a Relic?

Wouldn't it be something else if you found that Ybarra had wound the two Fender pups and signed them:!:
