so i went to a fender custom shop roadshow event with Paul Waller here in the UK and i was very lucky to win a set of these pickups, wound by BP (= Bricenda Pineda?). Not withstanding the fact that i just won fender custom shop pickups, the guys were also raving abut the fact that you cannot buy this set on its own and obviously the hand wound bit gives it extra mojo.

I haven't really found much information on them though? even in the custom shop guide there is only like one mention of them in a table with resistance values etc. from what i can gather they are fairly new - i think there was a limited edition custom shop 56 relic strat that was made a couple of years ago, but obviously the nature of that means there's fairly limited info or demos on the web. my assumption is these pickups were designed for that?

Just wondered if anyone else had anymore info on the history of them, how they came about how often you see these/ opinion on them?

thanks in advance

A
