#V00009 is actually for sale @ San Francisco Art Exchange LLC, the bid exceeds $200,000.

It's the second auction of a Journeyman-era memorabilia following the sale of the Soldano/Cornish amp system @ Bonhams 7 years ago!

Ah! The seller is NOT Eric. It's buyer who acquired it at Christies. So it goes.

Nice guitar.

I wasn't sure (from the photo) if it was an 'original EC' or one of the few exact copies that were made around that time (EG - a Japanese player had two made to that exact spec * see link below with photos), but it was clearly a gluey neck and a hyper-thin nitro body like his originals (just the light reflections give that away).

Maybe I should play like DB II .. cuz I'd sure love that guitar

(RE the copy guitars - interesting photos/info, including letter from John Page)

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. One thing I've not understood for many years. This preoccupation with coating the necks with cyanoacrylate adhesive [aka 'Crazy Glue].

I know yeah. It must have felt really good  .. and I personally like the look, ie how it marks up, but Michael Stevens told me it was horrific to do (or words to that effect).

Easy to understand why. Here's a primer for you on it's development. Can't imagine anything better than a satin finished neck, unless the adhesive is a plus for a sweaty hand.

The link Alain had posted doesn't work.

Dropbox disallows hotlinking.

It's a shame. We've lost access to Photobucket and all the fantastic images that accompanied the many threads. In particular....Ceri's splendid resurrection of the guitar body Niki sent him, and Rollie's [aka orChrist]'Supermarine Spitfire' guitar dedicated to Iron Maiden.

yes Doc, they charge so much that it's unreasonnable to go through them anymore.
I use "snagit" to capture the photos I still have with them to retrieve them on my computer
Best
