Every time I go to the Namm Show, I tell myself there is not a guitar at the Fender booth I want or need - WRONG!
I am now lusting for the 1964 Super Faded Sonic Blue Journeyman Relic Strat I saw hanging on the wall at the Fender Custom Shop booth at Namm last week. It is a team built guitar and it appeared to have a Guitar Center sold sign on it. I have my guy at GC looking into it and I am waiting back to hear what the price is on it. If the price is not out of this world, I will have to get it. Anyone else at Namm see this guitar hanging on the wall and if so, what is your take on it and the specs listed on it? I did like the fact it had a AAA rosewood neck and the pickups were hand wound. :D

Any pics? Is super faded sonic blue the one that looks almost white?

Yes the color is almost white. If you go on the Fender Custom Shop website under the link Stratocasters, this guitar is listed as the 2018 new model. It is team built, and I am waiting back from my sales guy on pricing.

I was lucky to get the actual guitar that was shown at this years winter Namm Show, that was hanging on the wall at the Fender Custom Shop booth. I should have it in a few weeks. :D

I am still waiting for the guitar. My sales guy told me it should arrive in the next 2 weeks or sooner. I hope sooner than later. :D
If you do a search on you tube for the Fender booth at the winter Namm Show 2018, you will see the guitar hanging on the wall in the Time Machine series.

George painted his sonic blue '61 in a psychedelic finish to create "Rocky".

Rocky and the all-rosewood '67 Telecaster were used extensively after the Beatles' demise, both live and in the studio.

I got my guitar yesterday and it is the Namm Show guitar. What a wonderful guitar this is. The quality and workmanship is outstanding. Getting the exact guitar from the Namm Show and seeing it at the show is so cool!
I wonder what Fender will be showcasing at the summer Namm Show? :D

I can tell you right now that guitar is beautifull! I debated on a CS faded sonic blue in december but passed for an olympic white. It was a close call!

The super faded sonic blue on this guitar is super cool. When I saw this guitar at the Namm Show, I just had to have it. I am so addicted to Fender Custom Shop guitars. I just wish I could afford a Master built one, but the prices are so high now, and I don't buy used guitars. My dream Master built would be a 1963 Strat in vintage white, in a relic finish, quarter sawn maple neck medium tinted, with a AAA dark rosewood fret board, clay dot inlays, AAA flame neck, hand wound Josephina 1963 pickups, vintage hardware, 63 C neck, bone nut, 5 way switch, 3 ply white pick guard and pickup covers, vintage frets. Oh well, just a dream! :D
