Hello!
I am new here, I want to say hello and greet everyone very much. I have often read and used your posts. Now I need your help and advice myself.
I want to buy a neck. However, I am concerned that the neck is original, produced by Fender Custom Shop? Add photos. Can any of you help me in this matter?
Regards
Paul

The Custom Shop doesn't sell necks, but people who own Custom Shop guitars do sometimes part them out and sell the pieces individually.

The Stratosphere has parted out many CS guitars. And people who buy those parts eventually end up reselling them.

So genuine CS necks do come up for sale. Of course there are lots of forgeries too.

I don't know enough about CS Claptons to say whether that neck is real or fake. But there are more experts on the TDPRI than here, and they would have called out the seller if it was an obvious fake.

Yo!
I'm kind of late on this discussion. What is the status of your quest? Had I jumped into this earlier on I would have suggested sending Fender Consumer Affairs an enlarged copy of that photograph you posted else where and ask them to inquire of the Custom Shop what records they have of the build on that neck. I see date 2005 if I'm not mistaken.

Doc

Chromeface correct me if I'm wrong, but EC was totally against figured necks asking only for quarter sawn plain necks.

I'll wait for his response as a final but something in my memory of prior discussions suggests that there was a figured neck on one of the early black Lace Sensor guitars. The photo iin the Christies Catalog of the 1988 famous Mike Stevens Black, the 1996 black guitar built by Larry Brooks, and the 1996 50th Anniversary Gold Leaf appear to have lightly figured necks.

What else do you have in your collection of that vintage in addition to The Triplet guitar?
