Hi. My name is Felipe and I´m from Brazil, so I'm sorry if I wrote somtehing wrong..

As a left handed guitarist and Brazilian, you can imagine that there's a very small market for some kind of instruments.

Recently I found this 1999 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster for sale but I have some doubts. Does it seems real to you? Here in Brazil we suffer with the fake chinese guitars.. The owner doesn't have the original hardcase and the certificates with him right now but he told me that he will have it in about 10 days (it's in another town). My main concern is the place where the "Fender Custom Shop" logo is placed on the back of the headstock.

Thanks for your help.

Does the fact that the owner for some reason does not have the case and cert with him right now sound funny?
it should do since this is not a custom shop guitar! :D

It also looks like a 60's reissue, that would not have a truss rod adjustment at the headstock side. Also the tuners are wrong if it were supposed to be a 60's reissue.

Looks like a American standard strat, relic'd with a custom shop decal, placed a little higher than usual. Cool looking guitar but not worth custom shop prices.

Look at the trust rod adjustment hole dead give away. USA made fenders have walnut wood lining that hole , the one in the pic has plastic.
