Submitted a quote sheet to dealer 3 weeks ago... Downloaded form and checked off what I wanted... Got a reply back a week later with a spec sheet from the CS that had the right model year but nothing that I wanted (radius, frets, neck tint, pickups/e;ectronics... etc). Corrected that and sent back to dealer... they forwarded to CS... 2 weeks later got the 'corrected' spec sheet... still totally incorrect. Wrong radius, pickups/electronics, neck tint, etc.

Not sure of this is the typical experience but so far mine has kinda sucked... Hoping the 3rd time is the charm or I am going to bail...

I think it's hit or miss with ordering. My first custom order for a JS bass through Fender Germany/Europe took almost 7 weeks just to get the order confirmation. My current order for a DW Jawbreaker Jazz Bass only took a week including a couple of emails back and forth between the dealer and Fender, so dunno....I hope it turned allright with your order in the end, but I know from experience that it can be a very frustrating process.

I had no issues when I ordered my team built 73 Strat from Guitar Center. My sales guy sat down with me and went over all the spec's I wanted on the guitar. Then he emailed his Fender Rep, plus talked with the guy on the phone to make sure everything was correct. A little over 3 months later my guitar arrived - perfect to what I wanted on it. I had no issues at all when ordering a guitar from the custom shop. Perhaps it is the dealer you are working with. Have them email their Fender rep with your spec's, plus have them talk with that person over the phone to make sure everything is correct with your order. I am sure you will get this straighten out. :D

I had a great experience ordering my first master built. Corresponded directly with Paul Waller to get exactly what I wanted. The hardest part was the 9 month wait...but this Wednesday I will have it in my hands!
