Hello,

I am currently conducting research concerning the conversation of my Am Std Strat (2016 model, alder, rosewood, SSS, Fat 50s pickups) into HSS .

I am considering a Duncan 59 for the bridge of my strat and keep the fat 50s for the neck and middle pickups. I have understood that this is the same pickup configuration as what we could be found on several Custom Shop Showmaster models that were produced in the 2000.

But now I am considering the best wiring options to go with these pickup (SD 59 + Fat50s). In this respect I was wondering if someone may have any idea of the wiring of such Custom Shop Showmaster and in particular le pots and caps value they used at the time.

I did a lot of research on Internet and could not find the answer. I even contacted Fender with response so far.

Thank you very much,

Best,

Grégoire

You might try the Seymour Duncan website and check their recommendations for that pickup when used in conjunction with conventional single-coils. They'll often have suggested wiring schemes archived somewhere on the site.

Bear in mind some later mini-floyded Showmasters made after the fall of 2003 came with a bolt-on one-piece maple neck and an S-1 switch. Engaging the S-1 will enable further pickup combinations ranging from series to parallel.
