I want to add a Clapton tbx mid boost to my 50th anniversary Galuszka master built strat
and beef it up a little more, but, before I do, I wanted the opinion from you guys here on the forum, because as great I think it would sound, I read that once you put the system in your guitar you can't get it back to how it was originally, is that true?
Any help would be appreciated!

Why can't you remove this printed circuit and 9 volts battery ? Ok the routing you do must stay there.

Retrofitting Tips
If you want to install a mid-boost system in your guitar, keep in mind that not only do you have to install the PCB somewhere, you also need space for a 9-volt battery to power the preamp. There are many ways to place these two components inside a Strat, and naturally the ideal location depends on a particular instrument and its routings.

The easiest way is to place the PCB on the bottom of the Strat’s electronics compartment (below the pots) and the battery in the trem-spring cavity. While this is the quick-and-dirty way, a more elegant solution is to route an additional compartment for the PCB below the neck and middle pickups. This area is completely covered by the pickguard, so you won’t see it. There are many variations out there, though, so do a Google search to find the one you like be.

Adding a stompbox with 25 dB gain to your pedalboard is a helluva lot easier than the above kabuki dance. And you won't be destroying your Masterbuilt guitar's premium resale value should you ever decide to sell it.

I like Arjays stomp box method the best.
But if I was gonna add it, I would probably block the guitar and remove all the springs/tighten the claw all the way down, I think you could fit everything you need in the cavity space. If you wire it w/ a disconnect you could get rid of it pretty easy.
Of course you still need to add the TBX pot and wiring.

I am also the owner of a 50th anniversary Galuszka mb, and agree with the guy's 1000+, do not destroy a great guitar, if you want a Clapton, buy one, there are millions out there, but only a few 50th anniv. mbs.

Didn't we just see a LE '57 re-issue not too long ago that somebody hacked to death?

:(

Thanks for the input but I am definitely NOT going to be cutting in to the body of the guitar. I have found out that I can install it with no cutting or drastic changes.
My concern is if I can still use the same pickups just change the tone knobs without losing the original tone of the guitar, all I want to do is "beef it up"

Well, through research I've found that TC Electronics makes a pedal called the Spark that is a good sub for the Clapton boost. I think I'm going to try that first and go from there.

Cara Claptone.

Essentially that Fender "Elite" mid boost circuit housed into a stompbox!

I agree with the guys, I strongly advise you to not destroy your guitar.

If you want that TBX/MDX circuitry, buy a Cara Claptone stompbox.

There ya go! Chromeface to the rescue, as usual. I was thinking about that very box while reading through the thread. Ditto on the external midboost circuit. Leave the guitar stock. BTW: As suggested in another response, you might want to consider a vintage Clapton with FLS's...pre-VN's. Awesome tone and that 'found nowhere else in the line' slim V-neck. The early one's were built in the nascent Custom Shop.
8)
