Is there any news on the previously mentioned Al Jardine Tribute Strat? I've seen the mentions before on Fenders page and some people on the Beach Boys boards have mentioned it but I haven't heard anything from fender recently.

Any news?

There's also a note in the article on Kenny Wayne Shepherd in the 9/07 issue of "Acoustic Guitar" that there's a KSW on the way.

I assume this will never surface?

It's a shame since the BB's are touring to celebrate their 50th Anniversary.

It would have been a wonderful guitar to release.

Paging Mike Eldred!

Al played various Strats over the years, including this transparent teal American Deluxe:

The guitar you're talking about is an original Olympic White '62. It was used extensively in the 1970s and 1980s.

I heard the Al owned an EARLY 1954 Strat with a LOW LOW serial -White as well. Many people over the years have mentioned it -engineers, players. Carol Kaye told me she never looked at serial numbers (geeky I should think), but that yeah, he had an old old Strat.

Anyone seen Robbie Robertson's blond 60s Tele? It's THE most beat to cr-p Tele i have ever seen. He took the Gibson HB out of the neck and put the the original PU back in -But no cover. The pick guard is mostly gone -Looks like it was eaten by moths. I could only judge the date by the 12th fret dots. The logo was tattered. BUT it sounded reet. real fat for a Tele -Rusty strings and all. I thought I might need a tetinus shot after just seeing it. I think if you PLAY it, the CDC has to get involved. I'd like to see the custom shop guys do that one -GOOD LUCK! Next they will move on to "reissues" of Monets and Renoirs. Who would buy a new Tele that was so beat?
