At least something of interest out of the FCS.
Good news, Abigail is still operational on a case by case basis :D

Got an email from Fender today about this guitar. It said at the bottom of the email...A painstaking reproduction of the guitar Harrison used in the legendary concert from the rooftop of Abbey Road Studios in the film Let It Be. Wah wah. Any Beatle fan knows the concert was on the roof of 3 Saville row, which was the Beatles Apple HQ. Hope they put more work in the guitar than they did in knowing where it was played.
I have one of the original Japan re-issue versions of that guitar from way back when. Tele's Rock!

$12,500 for a teambuilt is a good chunk of money.
Given the weight, I predict the 100 they made will go to collectors and not players.

ouch
I do own a John English Masterbuiltt Rosewood Tele , most probably tle last FCS guitar he made, it's chambered and the weight seems already painful, so I can imagine a totally solid weight one.
Nevertheless, the sound is chimering with crystal harmonics.
Great guitars
The similar Rosewood Strat, not chambered must be played being sitted.
A Gibson Les Paul seems like a balsa wood guitar.

Whatever the cost of the guitar, you must leave some money aside for a chiropractor! :)

I bet! I have a chambered Tele too (only a Select, so ash and Malaysian ebony top) but it has a wonderful resonance!

Merci! If friendly envy can sustain you, you now won't have to eat for months!

That is one beautiful Telecaster. Rosewood is such a nice looking and sounding[*] wood, and this one is masterbuilt and chambered. It's too good looking for just one man to see, so thank you for sharing.

[*]: To the naysayers who say that tonewood has no influence on how an electric guitar sounds, they are wrong, and I have one very technical argument for them: Thhhppbbpp!

There is one misconception in the original GH Rosewood Tele, which for the sake of "historically correct" , has been reproduced in the GH Tribute Tele.
tip: it's mentioned in the presentation of the latter.
What is it ?

I spot two inconsistencies, but they are not really common misconceptions:
1: They say "Micarta nut [...] just as on the original instrument", and I am fairly certain that Kubicki said the original had a bone nut.
2: The new one is in a "closet classic" finish, i.e. a mild relic, "approximating the condition it would be in after the short time it was in George’s hands".
I may be an old man, but I prefer new guitars to look, well, pristine.

But one thing that seems to be much better on yours is the color matching. Here's one of the new ones, and I cringe:

Are you talking about the logo having been placed too far down the headstock, so they had to place the string tree even further towards the nut so it wouldn't cover the logo? Yeah, that seems to be replicated in the new one.

I'm not so sure about the body being made out of four pieces of rosewood and the neck out of 2+1, though. I thought the original had two slabs of rosewood and a single piece neck with a fingerboard, i.e. 1+1. But I could be wrong.

Now if I were to one day order one, I'd depart the Harrison scheme, and pay extra to get it made from chambered Brazilian palisander rosewood (there are legal certified stocks, but they are pricey) and a bone nut cut for a wound third string, stainless steel fret and saddles, engraved silver hardware (Yuriy?), and a shiny nitro piano gloss finish with a satin neck back. I'd go for max prettiness and playability over historical accuracy.

you were somewhere right:
"...though. I thought the original had two slabs of rosewood and a single piece neck with a fingerboard, i.e. 1+1. But I could be wrong...."

The pamphlet mentions:
"The sleek rosewood neck is fashioned from two pieces of rosewood capped with a rosewood fingerboard, just like Harrison’s original, instead of the traditional one-piece construction. The neck’s visible seam line adds to the character of the instrument, marking it as a unique creation."
you are right.
But the major problem that the GH original one faced, and some very early units also, with the neck is that rosewood is an oily wood and it's rather impossible to glue forever two pieces together so after a certain time, they separate, thus the rosewood/maple/ rosewood sandwich of the body. But this was not the case with the neck
Peruse the video they show of the original one and you'll see that @ 0:29:

So they did the same stupid mistake although for the early original ones they switched instantly to the one piece neck and no more a capped one.
But the new guys at FMIC should have consulted records before doing such stupid backward move.
$ 12.500 for that short lifeTeambuilt ?
Not my cup of tea.

Well, street price is more like half of the MSRP, but still. If I were to drop that much cash, I would want a masterbuilt. Preferably not one out of a 100 either.

Looking at reverb.com, I can get a masterbuilt one cheaper at $4500:

(But to be honest, this Greg Fessler non-rosewood one looks even more tempting:)
