If I were to order an uncomplicated teambuilt guitar through a US dealer that does a lot of business with the Custom Shop, how long should I expect to wait for it?

I was given 4-6 months not too long ago. That was UK though.

If you phone the dealer, they will be able to tell you there and then.

I just ordered my 2016 1956 Limited Edition Wide Fade 2tbs Strat from Guitar Center. I saw this guitar at the recent Namm Show in Anaheim CA, and totally fell in love with it. It was the only guitar in the whole Namm Show that gave me that wow factor. I was told by my sales guy Tony in the GC Platinum Room, that it could be 3 to 5 months before I would receive it. This is not a special ordered guitar, since it is from the 2016 collection edition. So I am thinking since you want a guitar that is team built, but with a few tweaks that is not a standard option for the guitar you want. It may take a longer wait, compared to the guitar I just ordered. You should check out the Fender Custom Shop 2016 Collection. There are some pretty sweet guitars that are coming out. The Master Built Limited Edition Rosewood Telecaster, based off of George Harrison's guitar, that only 100 are being built. This is a guitar of my dreams, but a little out of my price range, darn it! Maybe my luck will change in the future and I will someday own this guitar. Fender you are making some ultimately cool guitars! :D

I am still waiting on my guitar and I was told it could be another 60 days before it arrives. This guitar is taking about 90 days to get, so I am sure your wait will be a little longer. It's like waiting for the kettle to boil, so I have stopped counting down the calendar days. Hopefully this will make the time go faster for my guitars arrival. :D

I just put my order in for a custom shop team built 73 Strat based off of my original 72/73 Strat in closet classic nitro black finish, with the bullet truss rod in the neck, quatersawn laminated maple neck lightly tinted, 69U shaped neck, vintage frets, 69 pickups, sort for light weight wood, 3ply white pick guard, Schaller F turners, vintage trem assembly. I am waiting to see if I can get a figured A flame neck on it also. This guitar is similar to the Edge's 73 Strat that he used in the early days with U2. I am not sure you can get figured necks if the neck is quarter sawn, but my sales guy Tony from GC is finding out for me. I was told it could take 3 to 5 months for the guitar to arrive, but that is fine. I should have done this years ago, instead of continuing to buy Custom Shop guitars, trying to find the holy grail! Namm is around the corner and I hope I don't find anything I want! Yea sure, I always say that! :D

I haven't heard anything yet on where my guitar is in the process of being built. I did find out that a quarter sawn neck does not have any flame to it, darn!

A quarter sawn neck might have a little flame to it, or what I'd describe as "Ghost Flames." Faint, but noticeable. Here is a quarter sawn neck on a Tele of mine. Like all "flame" difficult to get a good photo of it!

Thanks for the photo. I am hoping that there might be a little flame to the neck, like yours.

My guitar came in yesterday with all the correct spec's I had ordered and the flame on the neck is gorgeous. I am missing 2 things out of the case candy. There were no custom shop guitar picks, nor the John Cruz tool kit. I am going to have to contact Fender and see if they will ship them to me.
