IN the new Musicians Friend catalog they feature a different kind of Fender amp than I ever saw, they call it the Bassbreaker

Here is a photo of the ad from the MF catalog on my Facebook page

The Bassbreaker was a limited-edition amp and discontinued about ten years ago.

Basically, it mated the tweed 5F6-A Bassman chassis with a pair of 12-inch speakers (Celestion V30's IIRC). They turn up on Ebay periodically.

I saw a two page spread in the new GC Holiday Gift Guide. This is a new production run amp, but I cannot find info anywhere.

From a friend on Facebook who works in a musical instrument store

Quote:
I don't think these have been released into the wild yet. Haven't seen any at the shop yet.

Thanks amigo, El84 power tubes in all but the 45 watt model which says 2 EL 84 tubes, But I think they mean EL34 Tubes for 45 watts, I got no use for EL tubes, so that is a deal breaker for me.

Great to see some new amps from a great company - Fender.

Looks like the cabinets are well made, probally good speakers too.
Interesting - not open back and not closed back cabniets, kind of partially open back cabinets.

I thought they didn't have reverb, but the 15w combo does (2-EL84's with a 12 " speaker).
My guess, a better amp than the Blues Junior,,,,,,I don't know, ,,, I just said that.
