Good question for the Peavey forum.

Just want some fender insight. It has a nice fender clean tone to me.

I have the 30 combo, and it is pretty sweet. 8)

I've not played a Classic 20 but I do have a Classic 30 and a Classic 50/410 and they are both nice amps in their own way. I often read that the Peavey Classics have a nice Fender type clean tone but neither of mine sound like my DRRI.

IMO, one of the same reasons a Blues Jr. doesn't sound like a DRRI: EL84's don't sound like 6V6's nor 6L6's for that matter.

Got that right. EL84's have their own sound as do EL34's and in no way have that "Classic Fender Sound". Still the Peavey Classic series amps are great sounding amps especially with a speaker change. I have played many over the years and never had an issue with one except tube rattle. But quality tubes and tube dampers fix that problem. IMO, they have a pretty unique voice.

I wish Fender should make an amp with scaleable power and the features that this Peavey amp has -- but still gives a Fenderish sound. If it means putting different tubes in -- it that would be fine with me.
