Hi everyone, first post! I'm in need of some expert Fender advice. Been looking for an amp lately and I found myself plugged into a new mustang iv in my local music store and I have to say I was extremely impressed with the amp after dialing in some presets of my own. The amp model that I was most taken with was of the ss22. I ran the ts in front with the level up, on the amp both gains around 6.5, treble 3.5, mids and bass about 6.5. Think I chose the 65twin for the cab SIM. With this setting I was getting a fluid, smooth and creamy lead tone that reminded me of mark series amps I've had in the past. It had some decent bottom end which was fairly tight and I thought to myself that it was actually one of the better high gain lead tones that I've ever gotten out of any amp regardless of price.

Since this was the main model that interested me it immediately got me thinking about perhaps just getting the ss22 itself. My concern here is if I can expect a similar sound from the real thing or if my creation on the mustang with cab simulation and so forth might just be a unique item with little resemblance to an actuall ss22. If so, perhaps I should consider the mustang. Also, does the combo have some bottom end that can be felt a bit? I don't expect to shake the walls with a 22 watt combo but the mustang put out some very decent bottom end and perhaps I'd be better off to get the ss head instead of the combo.?.? Any thoughts anyone could share would be greatly appreciated. :)

I prefer a real amp like a all tubes amp, not a amp / computer with all gimmicks . I'll choose the Super Sonic 22

Voice of dissent, here. The MIV has the bottom end you are looking for. It is a lot of flexibility. The Super Sonic is a good amp, but if you are one of the few who enjoys the tone from a Mustang in the store, you will make it sound even better once you get it home and get to use it with Fuse.

IMO
