Is there anyway to use a rackmount fx unit w/ the Super 210 amp? There's no effects loop on the amp, and to make matters worse, it's a time-based unit, which perform better in loops. Thanks.

Doesn't it have a Pre Out/ Pwr In? That's the same as an Effects loop...

I just picked up the rackmount I'll be using from my tech. I mentioned this to them and they told me the opposite...that pre out/power in is NOT the same as an effects loop. She advised me to just plug the guitar into the rackmount input. However, I'm trying to avoid using this time-based unit in front of the amp.

I agree. Using a time based effect before the tone controls creates the surf noise common to chorus effects etc.
That is what the Pre out/ Pwr In loop does.
Now I don't want to argue with your tech because some rack mount devices have output levels that are incompatable level outputs
Commonly these are -10dB and +4dB.
I would try it to see how it works. It won't hurt anything as the levels aren't too far apart.
It might work just fine.

The "Pre Out" and "Power In" are indeed an effects loop, just more versatile, and in a different place in the circuit than some types of dedicated loops. Usually, the Pre Out is immediately after the preamp, and the Power in feeds the PI in the output section of the amp. Most people use their Pre In and Power Out exactly the same as any other effects loop.
