I think it's more of a design issue. The original had problems and FMIC took the path of least resistance and merely replicated them rather than address a fundamental flaw.

I bet he has to use them because of some kind of endorsement thing.
Humming is something that shouldn't be when an amp's at idle with nothing plugged into it. After you plug a single coil guitar into it, all bets are off. :lol: Even my 5e3 clone is quiet. Come to think of it, all my clone amp kits are dead quiet and I built them, and I'm no rocket scientist. I can read and follow directions. I'm no amp tech but I can figure stuff out.

I read somewhere many years ago for a endorsement a guitar player (?) use only the box , inside was another product . :lol: ..
