So I'm looking at a super 60 schematic in Aspen Pittman's Tube Amp book and the schematic calls it the "Optional bias mod".
It says to remove R158, a 10K resistor. Then stuff the empty parts on the board, R170 8.2K and R171, 5K linear pot.
Sounds easy.

Thanks bud, that's exactly what I was looking for. If I bring in my own power tubes, the tech should charge me the same price for the mod and power tube install/bias, right? Vs charging extra for the mod. That's what the other tech is offering, for $90. That sound fair?

Either tech is going to charge you whatever he wants. Bench fees where I live average about $45/hr. The work you wish done will likely take about two hours if done correctly.

The guy I'd rather go to just quoted me $125.

If he's competent, trustworthy, and warranties his work, write the check.
