Hi,
I did the Fromel'mod, Since I did it, I need to dial in any on my pot in the tone stack in order to get any sound. if the treble, bass and middle are close no sound in all channel (normal, Drive and More Drive.)

does someone has a clue of the problem or how to investigate?

Thanks

Not sure what the Frommel mod asks you to change --- but, it sounds like the tone stack caps may not be correct. Check if all three (C5-C7) are soldered into the correct locations.

Hi Tessicar,

That is not a problem, it's part of the mods, and it gives you more control of the tone of your amp. It has to do with the jumper that you put on the mid pot, allowing you to completely dial out any of the tone controls. So now, normal operation is no sound if all tone pots are dialed down to their minimum setting. Basically, you have everything that you had before, and more, due to the greater range of control.

I have done this same mod on my HRDlx I, BJr II, (and HRDvl 4x10 when I had one). This jumper allows scooping the mids much more than before, and I like that a lot.

Hi you guys are fast,
as suggest by BMW2002Ti I will check the caps, I already check all connection for continuity but I did not check the components (Caps). I test the resistors (OK) for the caps can I test them on the board or I have to desolder them?

I did the mod on a HRDvl 212, and the tone stack all down let the sound pass, maybe it is wrong. Anyway thanks shimmilou.

Yes, that's the test to see if you put the jumper in correctly, no sound with all tone pots down means that it is correct. It sounds like the amp that still passes sound with the tone pots down either doesn't have the jumper, or it was put in incorrectly.

I believe the idea might have originated on the Billm site, but the jumper works exactly the same on other HRd and Blues amps, as the tone stacks are the same design.
