Brand knew or second hand ?

Brand new , return to the store

Second hand ; That is why the guy sell it ?

1- Why this tube redplate ?

a- Is it well seated in socket ? push in place
b- try cleaning socket's contacts with contact cleaner ,or remove and put in place many times , this may clean the contacts
c- tube is defective ; replace it
A test ; reverse both tubes , if the same tube redplate , tube is defective . If the other tube redplate , fix the amp. See "d-"

d- Something wrong with the circuit , bad contact, broken printed circuit ....?
You must fix it before put a ( knew ? ) tube

You need to take the amp to an authorized Fender service center and let a qualified technician determine the nature of the problem and fix it.

(unless you have a problem with using a warranty that you already paid for)

I agree with stratele, swap the tubes and if it redplates in the other socket, the tube's bad. I had it happen to me in my Marshall 18 watt clone. It was just the tube. They don't make em like they used to. I'd buy a matched pair too and replace them both. If the same socket replates the other tube, either take the amp back for another one or have it checked out. Something could be up with the bias. Personally, I wouldn't keep using the tube.
