Thinking about a duet of these for a PTP Blues Deville with plate voltage of appox. 480v.....60 watts.
Mfgr.states good for up to 513v plate. These are EL84 tubes for lower output.
Anyone used these and had any problems?

Why don't you invest in a speaker load attenuator ? More expensive but work on all amp and you can control more the output power ?

......Or buy a Blues Pro?

Same 12-inch speaker, same EL84 output tubes.

I pulled a pair of yellow Jackets out of a hot rod deville a while back. They had fried the internal cathode resistors.
I can't recommend them for your amp.
If you need lower power, it's simple. Buy a lower power amp

Thanks guys for the advise. The yellow jackets were on sale being why I considered them., but i suspected inserting them into an amp designed for 6L6's just could'nt be as simple as sdvertised.
I do have a lower powered drri and an old Alamo Capri, but was looking for alternate sounds more than anything else.

If EL84 tone at low-to-moderate volume levels is the objective, better to pick up a Blues Pro or a Vox AC15.

Maybe some different speaker(s) would give you what you want. Is your amp 2x12 or 4x10?
