The TSA30H arrived.
Out of the box with original tubes and factory bias it was just ok, dial tweaking helped and got some useful tones from it.
No surprises here that is typical of pretty much every amp I've ever unpacked !

V-1 GE5751, V-2 Ampex 12AX7, V-3 GE 12AT7 and I went ahead and used the TAD 6L6GC STR power tubes as much to test them after some rough handling as to hear how they would sound.
I ramped the bias up to around 36.5 ma per tube and plugged in a guitar.

Absolutely an entirely different animal ! Deep bouncy lows, great top end chime.
it was like having a 65 Bassman head with mid controls and a ton of gain on tap ! now you hit that boost switch and you know it !!

Putting That little metal grille plate close enough to the Bias pot sure makes it easy to adjust.

The Tall TAD 6L6's just barely fit in the cab while attached to my bias probe, it was very close !

Sounds awesome bb, seems just like my reaction when I got mine dialed in, definitely brought a smile to my face. It really is a unique sounding amp, yours is probably very similar in sound to mine, considering the tube lineup. Many times, I find that certain guitars match up better with certain amps. What guitars have you tried? Did you find a certain guitar that sounds best?

After going back and forth with a 12AX7 and a 5751 in V2, I really liked the 5751 more. But of course I wanted a little less gain for the clean sounds, and the JJ 5751 was just right for that. I set the gain for decent breakup with the guitar volume up, and turn the guitar volume down for a cleaner sound. I still have plenty of grind using the TS and boost. Sounds like you like a little more drive in your amp. 8)

It is my goal to build my amp sound around my #1 guitar
My 2004 AMSE limited edition 50th Anniversary Strat.
I fell in love with that guitar's tone thirteen years ago and not one day has gone by when we didn't spend some time together.
The ash body and 54 Custom shop pickups Give it a light wound vintage Strat tone that really works for me.
(needs a re-fret but I can't stand to give it up).

The best part about this amp is that it stays clean with the tube choices I've made half way up the volume adjustment and even a touch higher and that my friend is pretty loud !
If you have never tried one of the Egnater Rebel 1X12 cabs then I highly recomend one and the used market has them very cheap ! The open and dynamic sound of that cab with this head adds so much to the sound !!!

Also keep in mind that my route 66 comp side is always on and that too is part of my personal sound.
The fine folks at Visual sound also were kind enough to send me mod instructions for my favorite pedal to modify the OD and drop the gain, now its the combo pedal I always wanted !
