I picked up a Fender Stage 160 last night from a guy at an open mic night. I'm really not into solid state amps but this sounded pretty nice and was only $175. It is built like a tank and in my opinion much nicer than any current Fender digital amps. This Stage 160 is the non dsp variety. Anyone else ever use one of these? I wasn't really familiar with them. It won't replace my tube amps but for solid state it's worth the price paid.

I had a Stage 100 DSP with matching extension cabinet that I used professionally for a number of years. It was a solid rig with ample volume and very usable effects. For $175, I think you struck an excellent bargain.

I had a Stage 160 combo for a few years. I was looking for a solid state version of a Twin Reverb. Nice clean tone but lousy distortion tone (as with all of the solid state amps I've played). Be careful when moving it around though. I don't think the PCB boards are supported properly. My amp ran into problems after a few years with PCB traces cracking. I had it repaired and sold it for a DRRI. Still for the price I think you got a good deal. Good luck with it.

I won't really be using it much but bought it since it seemed like a good deal. The amp has casters on it so it's fairly easy to move but pretty heavy. As you said, very nice clean tone. It seems to be pretty well built and has 2 12" Celestion speakers. I think it's almost as heavy as a Twin Reverb! It won't replace my DR but for the money I think I got a good deal. I'll shoot a couple of pics and post them soon.
