I have a Tweed Deluxe clone, but no Greenback in it but a Weber 12a125a in it. I do have a Marshall 1974x 18 watt clone with a Celestion Greenback and like it a lot. It's a well rounded efficient speaker. Nice tight bottom end, great midrange and top end. It's something you'd have to try out for yourself.

Thanks 63supro. I can say that the Greenback is very fine on this amp. I play every day on ! Less bass compare to the Jensen.
I know very well also the1974x also called the dual channel. It's really a great amp. It was less known than the Bluesbreaker but it weight is reasonnable ! :)

I really like my Marshall clone a lot. I built both the 5e3 and the Marshall myself. Fun stuff. I was a bit skeptical about the Greenback because it's made in China. But so far so good.

The Weber I have in my 5e3 clone is amazing. It has an Alnico magnet in it. Just a beautiful sounding rig. Where'd you find the Knotty Alder cab?

Man, that looks sweet! I stay away from Fender's high end stuff and just build it myself. I'm too cheap to buy something that nice. Congrats!!

For me it just out of my price range. I wouldn't call it overprices especially for a real limited edition unique piece like that. That cabinet is truly beautiful. Do you transport it in a road case or use a cover?

I use it at home and for friend jam then I only use the Fender cover. By the way, I feel that the wood makes a special sounding at low medium, it's amazing and very nice. It's equipped with 12ax7, it's perfect for Rock/blues even Hard. However, I've to buy a couple of 12AT7/ECC81 (short plate) to reduce "drive" especially with my ES175 for Jazz.

This is a beautiful amp - I love the woodwork. I really wish Fender would bring out a handwired Blackface amp.

I'm a bit late to the party but congrats on a really Beautiful Amp mate. If you wish to lower the gain try a 12ay7 in V1, that's the original tube spec for the 5e3 Deluxe circuit, smooths things out just right. 8)

Tis-san, any chance you could post a picture of the chassis with the back panel off? I have the tweed 57' Deluxe ri, and would really like to see if Fender did these the same, or used other components internally. Also I use a 12ay7 in position one, and really like the tone.

+1

I'd be interested in seeing some comparison pics as well.
