Apologies, first ever forum post. I have Hot Rod III - Want to take 8 ohm out (or slave) from Mesa dual rectifier head into Power Amp in on HRD. 1. Is this possible? 2. Does plugging into Power Amp in disable any input coming into Input 1 or 2 on HRD? 3. At the end of my pedal chain, I would like to A/B switch to Mesa head with HRD as my cabinet, and other to HRD input 1. Help! Thank you for any assistance.

NO
1- too much power to drive Hot Rod power amp
2- load for the Mesa is wrong you may damge it . It need 8 ohms ( speaker or resistor )

Thank you for the prompt reply. Was looking for a way to save stage space and use both amps. Back to the drawing board. Thank you again.

The "Preamp Out" or "Effects Send" from an amp, or even the out from a multi-effects unit can be plugged into the "Power Amp In" on the HRDvl. Whenever you use the "Power Amp In" on the HRDvl, the amps preamp section is bypassed, volumes, tone controls, etc, so whatever is plugged into the "Power Amp In" will control the volume. I am not sure what your MB has as far as outputs, but as stratele52 pointed out, never use an amp's speaker output to plug into another amp's inputs.
