Hello All,

I've scoured the inter-webs for some time and haven't found a viable solution in which someone was able to turn the amps reverb into a switchable option.

I know I can get a pedal, however, it would be nice to use the amps reverb.

I'm also open to the reality of this being a horrible idea :).

It's not a bad idea if you need that capability, I can think of a couple ways.

You would need to mount another jack and single button footswitch.
Hook it into the top of the reverb control and ground out the signal with the footswitch,
Use shielded wire for the footswitch, Keep the cord short to avoid hum.
It may pop a bit, but it should work. This is where Fenders normally switch the reverb.
The hard part is where to drill the hole for the new jack. It's busy in there.

Another option would be to use a Y splitter on the RCA cable on the reverb return and plug the footswitch to ground out the signal coming out of the tank. While this is simpler, it will be more prone to hum and switch popping because its a lower level signal.
If the cable is short it may work OK.

Hey Tim(sAudio),

Thanks for the reply. Are you saying at "C53"? http://support.fender.com/schematics/gu ... ematic.pdf

I believe that's the closet to the control I could logically get

No, C96 or 98, I can't read it clearly. The .0033/400 is the one you want. Hook it to the end with no DC voltage on it.

Ok thanks for the help again. I'll try it out and let you know.

Ok. So it definitely works.

HOWEVER, there is a major, major pop every time I switch it. Switching it on or off, it pops unbearably loud. I feel it would eventually (soon) destroy my Celestion if I operated this way.:(

Looks like I may be pedal shopping...
