I´m willing to get rid of my Fender FM25DSP for the Champion 600 ! Do I have something to loose ?

Would this ART between my RP255 and the CHAMP600 help the tone in any way ?

or this maybe ?

DeltaLab TO1 Tube Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal

Hi joaokorb,

You will lose the "aux input" and "headphone jack" and "foot switch" and the versatility of the FM25DSP. The simple C600 has only a volume knob and on-off switch. The C600 tube amp will sound completely different than the solid state FM25DSP. The C600 has no built in effects like the DSP. And of course effects pedals will change the tone, but you will have to try pedals with the C600 to see what it sounds like to you. I'm not familiar with the "ART", so I don't know what it would sound like. I like the sound of the C600 without any pedals, it's good for blues sounds. If you like the sounds that you get from the FM, why not stick with it? :)

It´s all because I want to go for the tubes. I see for the blues the C600 shall be something special. If it accepts well a tube vox tonelab st along, and I cant get some Shine On You Crazy Diamond and some Red House Blues out of it I think I´ll be fine.

If you get the C600, try it through an external 12-inch speaker, it really makes the amp sound much bigger and louder. I agree that a tube amp is generally better than the solid state. Enjoy! :)

:D

Just wanged my Nos tubes in - RCA (made in usa) 6V6 and Mazda 12AX7 (made in UK)

WOW - what a difference! Much smoother, no more farty sounds off the stock speaker - chuffed to bits. I am now completely in love with it!!

Also hijacked my lil bro's Marshall MG30DFX and used it as a cab with the stock Marshall 10" speaker - makes it sound so much bigger, a bit louder and projects a lot better.

I'm going to keep the stock speaker in the champ (for different recording options) but DEFINITELY now purchasing a 10" Jensen Alnico speaker to bung in the marshall 'cab'

Chuffin' awesome amp!!

joaokorb - I have been using my RP250 through my c600 since the beginning of the year. I never use my Frontman amp anymore.

I typically use my RP255 set up as a Guyatone overdrive for nice crunch tones. I recently bought a Deltalabs TO1 just like you are thinking of and also love it in front of the c600. I had some rewards points and basically got it for free!

Remember, with the RP250/255 you still have the aux input capabilities so you really don't lose anything by not using the other amp.

I think that you would be real happy with the set up, if you decide to go that route.

Good luck,
Chris

Would a Champion 600 with some groove gold tubes and Weber speaker sound killer than a AC4TV ?

AC4TV is really a great amp, but i think it would be too crunchy for me, not much clean headroom.

Great looking amp, but you may want to still get the ToneLab so you can vary your sound more at lower volumes. Even a 5 watt amp can be really loud. At my practices with full band, I use my Vox AD60VTX at the 1 watt setting to keep from blowing everyone else away!

JMTCW (just my two cents worth)

And how beauty is that eh ? Why do I need a Pro Jr ? Meh

The thing is, I must choose for the Fargen Champ 600, or a Stock Champ 600 and the Tonelab, or a Stock AC4TV and the Tonelab. Aldo the AC4TV is a great pratice amp, kills stock champ 600 in my opinion, Its too crunchy! And im after the Traditional Fenderly Chimey Bell-Like Tone that only this Fargen Champ 600 haves!

If I get one Champ 600 stock even changing tubes and to a weber speaker, do you think Ill get close to this Fargen ?

I was really leading to the ac4tv... until i discovered... FARGEN CHAMP 600 !

For that kinda quality, who cares if the speaker is only 6" ? If i need more presence in the future ill have made a tweed cabinet and fit a 12" weber alnico on it!

Yeah, I got that ProJr, and it is pretty darn loud ! The ProJr sounds great with the POD HD300 from Line6, even using amp modelation.
Im not really a fan of headphones, so Im thinking myself of getting a Champion 600 for use at bedroom levels. How do you guys think the Champ will do over the POD HD300 ? I´m thinking of getting it cause it can be a little version of the ProJr, or am I wrong ?
