How is it that the Fender Blackface RI reverb is so much longer and bigger than the Hot-rod series amps'??

There's so much reverb in the Blackface RI amps and i have always dimed the Hot-rod series amps' reverb knob to 12 and there's still not so much reverb?

Different reverb circuits for each of these amps. The Blues deluxe reissue which is part of the hot Rod Series amps, has even less reverb then the hot Rod deluxe or Deville.

The hot Rod Series amps are primarily a platform for pedalboards with reverb..gain and everything else that everyone wants to use. I think it's widely understood that in the real world of gigging out, there is no such thing as a sweet spot without destroying the sound for the other bandmates on stage. Volume pedals and effects pedals are a reality for most amps unless you are just playing at home of course. I actually feel that the drive channel on these hot Rod amps sound good when gigging out in a live situation at stage volume level ..unlike just playing at home.

I agree with the above, I have to use a distortion stomp at home for my HRD, but I once did play out with the amp at stage volumes, and the thing sang like a birdie on the drive channel, a real loud birdie but none the less a real nice tone.

Ditto on the new Super-sonics..... subtle reverb.... even on 10, they aren't even near what the DRRI/PRRI reverb is at 5.

If I could read schematics, I would have investigated a mod/fix for this, because I would love to have that BF reverb in my SS22.
