.....................I did a slight mod on my 74 Champ replacing the RCA Phono jack for the spaeker with a standard 1/4' Switchcraft jack so I can run extension cabs. I use a Weber Z-Matcher so I can match any cabinet's impedance. That little six watter can get crazy loud and sounds amazing.

There are so many people on the various forums that cling to the OLD of using 50 and 100 watt amps and 'diss' the small ones. I have 3 amps of 15watts, one of 13 watts, one 20, one 22, and one 40 (plus a ss 65 watt which I rarely play). Even though I play in a band, the 40 gets used the least. Anyone who thinks the lower wattage amps can't get loud, and aren't enough, either hasn't given them a fair test (mic'd if necessary) or plays much louder than I ever will again. JMO

Yep. I no longer have any amps over 20 watts. I have my 74 Champ at 6 watts, a Modkits DIY 102 five watt that I built, a 5e3 clone that puts out close to 18 watts, and a Marshall 1974x that I also built both of them, an Egnater Rebel 20 and a couple of solid state amps as well as a little 5 watt hybrid I built. I have a GDec 30, but that thing doesn't count because my Champ has more balls than that thing. Low wattage amps give you everything that tube amps are cherished for without the ear splitting levels. Before these amps, all the rest I've ever owned were between forty and one hundred watts. As much as I loved my 76 100 watt Twin, there wasn't much call for it anymore. I don't play large venues on large stages anymore. I really prefer smaller, more intimate gigs where I can actually meet the people in the audience.

Im going from gigging with a Marshall DSL100 to using a Blues Jr. Much lighter

I added a TSA-15H to my living room rig yesterday
Let me say that having owned, worked on and just played dozens of Blues jr's, they never sounded like this !
Mine does have Tung-Sol Reissue 12AX7's and JJ 6V6S'

Add my famous gotta have Route 66 comp to it and Bam ! Sweet Fender Bassman tones (Blackface) !
In the cab is another favorite of mine, Swamp Thang Speaker from Eminence
Man This thing sounds so good !
My new go to for sure

Guys the VHT special 6 head is such a fun little amp !
6 watts and tone for days, my only mod is a 5751 in the pre and a sweet RCA 6V6GT in the power side.
More champ like than the TSA-15H in that it has less bottom, but not a lot less.
The cab has a 10" Gold label Fender Emi from a ???? can't remember and just has a perfect Blues tone.

Just can't get over how stout the bottom is on the TSA-15H !

And not pictured is my Ramparte, an amp that is WAY better than its reputation. 8)

PS The Swamp Thang from Eminence is my go to speaker for almost everything Fender, I have a 1x12 coming from an e-bay seller that has a Governor in it, this will be my first time messing with Emi's shot at a Vintage 30 type speaker, and i can run them both through the TS head

I'm pretty psyched to hear this little guy through two 1x12 cabs
One swamp thang and the other a Governor
I'm just guessing its gonna be amazing !
By the way I bought this amp from the youtube guru Gearmanndude and he had already swapped out the no name tubes for the jj"s and Tung-sol's
Maybe he added Mojo and didn't tell me ???

I'll update after the other cab arrives (supposed to be Saturday)

I'm sure you'll like it. I've played mine through a 2X12 with a Swamp Thang and a Wizard and it sounded nice.

The new cab arrived with the Eminence Governor, the cab is sweet !
Adding it to the TSA-15H gave it a much more lively high end, a tad more high end than i cared for
The VHT loved it, being a bit darker sounding amp head
So The Swamp Thang by itself is just so nice through the TSA that it need nothing.
The new cab ended up being super well made 3/4 Baltic Birch which adds a bit to the brightness.
Really opened up the tone on the VHT ! Win Win ! 8)

The Chinese Triplets
I've been able to coax out excellent tones from all three with various Speaker, Tube and yes even pedals !
Longevity ??? who knows , My guess is that ROHS compliance is killing the longevity on all tube amps.

Been a long time since I sent back my TS 15 Head and upgraded to the Egnater Tweaker 15 head. I can't say enough about the Tweaker head. It has become one of my all time favorite small amps. It is much louder than the comparable 15 watt Super Champ X2 that I sold and also louder than the TS 15 Head I sent back. It rivals the Deluxe Reverb for volume which will stand up to a moderate to loud band situation. But the volume is not the real issue here it is the tone I get from the Tweaker. I only use the clean sound on the Tweaker and use pedals for everything else. It actually rivals the Hot Rod Deluxe I have here for tone, not quite but real close to the tone I like on the HRD (I only use a clean tone from the HRD and use the same pedals in front of it that I use in front of the Tweaker)....... The Tweaker was easy to tweak to the tone I like, I got it done in 5 minutes after I opened the box. And have not changed it in months.

I keep hearing that about the TSA-15H and I scratch my head :?
Mine is about as loud as my DRRI which is really loud ! so.........

Mine does have jj's in the 6V6 spot and upgraded Tung-sol 12AX7's

Seriously amazing tone and all the volume I would ever need, stage of studio

I think the one I sent back was defective truthfully. Sometimes it sounded great, other times it was less than stellar. I was very happy with it at first then it started losing volume and tone. Then the next day it would come back strong. It must have been a tube. However, once I received the Tweaker 15 head, there was no going back for me. I liked that Tweaker from day one, and it has not disappointed me yet. Sweetwater was kind enough to pay shipping both ways once the rep and I thought it was defective. Probably just a tube, I did not have any to swap out to try, so back it went.....I have been a Fender guy all of my playing life since 1964, and my main amp is still a Fender HRD with a C-Rex speaker. The tone on that HRD is just stunning.

Highly unlikely that a tube will be intermittent, it sounds more like a loose connection, solder joint or tube socket.

I agree with the fender Amp thing !!! X1000
Give me a 65 to 58 Bassman head and a piggyback cab with some sweet jensens in it !
But I am seriously surprised at the tone I'm getting out of this head !
I got this from Gearmanndude on Reverb.com for 190 shipped and he had already upgraded the tubes, so dude how could I pass it up ???
I never would have guessed that the bottom could be this tight on a 15 watt head, the separate boost and Tube screamer makes this thing so versatile.
I honestly have yet to put it up against a drummer so........ But it sure looks to have the volume
PS
I 'm on the hunt for a bassman head to fix and Mod
My post here in the Vintage amp section shows my love for all things Bassman Silverface or Blackface !
