I'm wondering if anybody else is having the same issue with their SCXD that I am. First off, I love the little beast! It has great tone, and the versatility is amazing. I have used it in small clubs several times, and been complimented on my tone every time. That is, as long as I'm playing a single coil equipped axe. If I switch to a humbucker equipped guitar I get a ton of compression, most noticable in the 'blackface' and 'tweed' voicings. It's also present in the clean channel. The hotter the 'bucker, the more pronounced the compression. Notes literally POP out of the speaker.
Now I have not heard anyone else comment on this, nor read about it anywhere, not magazine reviews or forums. So... Is anybody out there getting this same compression, or is it just me? And the big question, can anything be done about it, other than only using single coil guitars?
Any help will be appreciated!

Yes I am having the same problem every humbucker equipped guitar I own does this....if I use setting 14 and hit and E bar chord hard it completely squashes the tone and drops in volume BADLY like someone put huge blanket on the amp and took it back off...

Funny you bring this up. I've also noticed this. As a matter of fact, try doing some cording with a moderate attack and the distortion backed down on just about any channel (some are worse than others). There is some serious compression even with my single coil guitars and regardless of pick-up output. Even to the point to where it effects note separation.

I've lightend up my attack, use more distortion, etc. trying to combat this, but I have to admit it's annoying to the point that I'm considering putting the SC on the block and going to a BJ NOS. But, like you said, the darned thing sounds so good that it's areal delima. :?
